Paul M. DaSilva
A
frequent guest commentator for COURT TV,
PAUL DA SILVA is a veteran criminal trial attorney. He has represented
high profile clients charged with serious crimes ranging from Murder to Drug
Possession. Mr. Da Silva brings his experience to every client he
represents whether they are charged with felony offenses or traffic infractions.
Mr.
Da Silva graduated from Rutgers University,
New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science
and in 1996 from Touro Law School,
Huntington, New York. He is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and
New York.
John M. Pinho
A Former Municipal Prosecutor, JOHN M. PINHO is an
avid advocate for the rights of his clients. Be it an injured worker or an
individual accused of Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol (DWI), Mr.
Pinho uses his experience to advocate successfully on behalf of his
clients.
Mr. Pinho graduated from Seton
Hall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in
1987. He attended Seton Hall Law School and
the Seton Hall Graduate Business School
and received a joint JD/MBA (Juris Doctor / Masters in Business Administration)
degree in 1991. He was admitted to practice law in New Jersey in 1992.
Following his admission to the bar, John worked as
an judicial clerk for two very esteemed judges of the Superior Court of New
Jersey. First assisting the Presiding Judge of Hudson
County, Honorable Maurice
J. Gallipoli, P.J.S.C. Following his clerkship with Judge Gallipoli, John worked
as a judicial clerk for a Presiding Judge in the Appellate Division Honorable
Sylvia B. Pressler, P.J.A.D. Judge Pressler annotates the New Jersey Court
Rules. These two judicial clerkships gave Mr. Pinho a strong foundation
upon which to start his practice of law.
Prior to opening his own law office, Mr. Pinho was
an associate in a law firm in Union County as a litigator. From 1993 through
1995, Mr. Pinho also served as the Harrison Planning Board Attorney. From 1998
to 2002, Mr. Pinho was General and Special Counsel to the Kearny Municipal
Utilities Authority. He is the former East Newark Prosecutor and is currently
its Public Defender. In 2001, Mr. Pinho was appointed as a Superior Court Law
Division & Special Civil Part Arbitrator in Hudson County.
With respect to community activities, Mr. Pinho
was the President of the Portuguese-American Civic Association of Harrison;
Member of the Centro Romeu Cascaes in Harrison (civic group) and involved in
local political campaigns.
Laura M. Mendonca
Laura
Mendonca graduated from Kean University with
a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice. While at
Kean University, Ms. Mendonca interned at the Office of the Corporation Counsel
in Washington D.C. Ms. Mendonca also interned at the City
Attorney's Office in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Ms. Mendonca is a Union
County Resident.
Ms.
Mendonca attended Seton Hall University School of
Law and received a JD (Juris Doctor) in 2001. While at Seton Hall Law,
Ms. Mendonca was a participant of the Immigration Clinic, Eugene Gressmen Moot
Court, and Latin
American Law Students Association (LALSA) and BALSA student
organizations. Mrs. Mendonca was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2001.
Following
her admission to the Bar, Ms. Mendonca served a Judicial Clerkship with the
Honorable Karen M. Cassidy, J.S.C. at the Superior
Court of New Jersey in Union County.
